Arrival and move-in

Move-in for on-campus housing will take place from Sept. 15–19. (If needed, in observance of religious holidays during the scheduled move-in, students may move in Sept. 14.)

Move-in for university apartments will take place Sept.13–18.

At this time, UCLA anticipates that move-in will be a fully masked event, where parents and families can help move students in.

Move-in testing

Students will be given a COVID-19 test during their move-in, with results delivered within 48 hours. Friends, family and other guests will not be tested. Students will be tested again five to seven days after their arrival. Those who test positive for COVID-19, whether they are vaccinated or not, will be required to isolate for 10 days. The campus has set aside housing units for isolation and quarantine.

Students needing vaccinations

Students, particularly international students, who have indicated they will need assistance in receiving a CDC- or WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccine upon arrival at UCLA will be sent specific instructions, resources and information prior to move-in.

Any students arriving on campus who are not vaccinated or who do not have a valid exemption will be directed to a vaccination location on campus. Unvaccinated students who immediately get vaccinated upon arrival at UCLA will be allowed to move into on-campus or university-owned housing but will be required to wear a mask indoors at all times until they are fully vaccinated.
