Infectious Diseases Management Team
What you need to know:
- Community feedback on interim amendments to UCOP’s Policy on Vaccination Programs will be accepted until Jan. 27.
- UCLA students, faculty and staff have until Feb. 1 to submit proof of having received the COVID-19 vaccine’s primary series and at least one booster or the opt-out declination form.
Note: Those who work in UCLA Health clinical areas (including medical, dental and nursing clinics) will receive communications directly from UCLA Health regarding COVID-19 protocols.
UCLA PreK-12 (including early care and education centers, UCLA Lab School and Geffen Academy) will communicate separately regarding guidance on COVID-19 protocols for children.
Dear Bruin Community:
Thank you to everyone who has submitted questions and comments regarding interim amendments to the systemwide University of California Policy on Vaccination Programs (PDF), which took effect on Dec. 12, 2022. Details of the proposed changes are highlighted in this Dec. 16 BruinPost.
Those interested in contributing thoughts and opinions regarding these proposed changes may do so until Jan. 27 using this policy feedback survey.
In addition, we would like to remind you that UCLA students, faculty and staff have until Feb. 1 to submit proof of having received the COVID-19 vaccine’s primary series and at least one booster or the opt-out declination form through the UCLA COVID-19 Action Center. If you are unsure whether you need to take action, you can check your status as an option in the action center.
(Per the California Department of Public Health Order, health care workers may not decline their first booster unless they are eligible for one of the order’s limited exceptions or deferrals.)
Staying up-to-date on COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters is an effective mitigation strategy to keep ourselves and those around us healthy and protected against the severe effects of the virus and its variants. The UCLA community has done an excellent job of helping our campus achieve a high level of vaccination and hybrid immunity.
We greatly appreciate your continued support and cooperation.
Sincerely,
Tim Groeling
