Register for Sept. 14 return to campus webinar

COVID-19 Response and Recovery Task Force

To: Faculty and Staff

Dear Colleagues:

Fall quarter is upon us and students will soon be filling our classrooms, laboratories, and campus housing facilities, which will be at the highest numbers thanks to two new residence hall facilities. Many faculty and staff are also returning to support in-person instruction and other operational needs. To support this transition, UCLA faculty and staff are invited to attend an informative webinar to learn more about our campus plans for the fall as we continue to cautiously and thoughtfully ramp up in-person activity at UCLA with the goal of providing a robust on-campus experience for our students.

This one-hour online event will be a bit different from prior town halls as it will focus primarily on sharing information and will not include a live Q&A session. The event will be hosted by the COVID-19 Response and Recovery Task Force on Tuesday, Sept. 14 from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m.

Presenters include:

  • Peter Katona, clinical professor of medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and adjunct professor of public health, who will provide a broad  COVID-19 public health update;
  • Michelle Sityar, executive director of UCLA Environment, Health and Safety, who will speak about campus protocols and mitigation strategies;
  • Chaitali Mukherjee, executive director, Arthur Ashe Student Health and Wellness Center, who will address testing and contact tracing plans; and
  • Lubbe Levin, associate vice chancellor, campus human resources and co-chair of the Reinventing the UCLA Workplace of the Future Work Group, who will share information related to returning to onsite work.

Registration is now open. Members of the campus community are invited to help guide the direction of the various presentations by submitting questions in advance as part of the registration process. This event will be available to watch through Zoom and will be live-streamed on YouTube. A video recording of the town hall will be available for viewing on the COVID-19 resources website after the event.

We also want to share additional upcoming town hall events hosted by the COVID-19 Response and Recovery Task Force that will include live Q&A opportunities:
