Comment period on proposed UC COVID-19 vaccination policy open through May 31

Office of the Administrative Vice Chancellor
Office of the Vice Chancellor for Health Sciences and Chief Executive Officer for UCLA Health

Dear Bruin Community,

The campus community was recently advised of a proposed University of California policy that would require all UCLA faculty, students, staff and academic appointees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, subject to limited medical and religious exemptions.

This policy would go into effect at the beginning of the 2021–22 academic year, under the condition that at least one of the vaccinations has received full approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and is readily available.

At this time, the UC Office of the President invites comments on this proposed Presidential Policy, SARS-CoV2 (COVID-19) Vaccination Program (PDF). Complete details of the proposed policy can be found in the UC Office of the President’s announcement.

Those with questions or comments are encouraged to submit them to CovidVaccinePolicyComments@ucop.edu no later than May 31, 2021.

Thank you for your continued efforts to promote public health and do your part to make our phased return to campus a successful one.

Sincerely,

Michael J. Beck
Administrative Vice Chancellor

John Mazziotta, M.D., Ph.D.
Vice Chancellor, UCLA Health Sciences and CEO, UCLA Health
